Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition Review

Image
Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition looks like a Diablo style game, but it is not a hack’n’slash dungeon crawler. Instead Pillars is an overhead semi-turn-based game. It has some dungeon crawling but you also visit towns and interact with a lot of NPCs. Pillars feels very much like an old school PC game and not so much a Nintendo Switch game. Let’s talk about the good aspects of Pillars of Eternity first. The voice acting in Pillars was unexpected and also pretty good. I like the game’s graphics for the most part. They are a bit dark, but the game looks similar to one of the classic Diablo games. Even its static drawn cutscenes are not bad. And control wise, Pillars of Eternity works well. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the game is all the customization at the beginning of the game. You fully create your character: the look, background, clothes, etc and there are multiple options that really make your character unique. Its a lot of fun to see what type of character you can cr...

Bitcasino – How safe is it?

Image
Bitcasino is a casino that operates solely using bitcoin. Whilst you are able to deposit money from a credit card, only bitcoin can be used during gameplay to place wagers. All winnings are also paid to players in bitcoin. After reading this post, be sure to check out https://www.manekinekocasino.com/bitcasino-review/ too! Of course, playing on a casino that operates with only bitcoin comes with both advantages and disadvantages. For example, you can’t withdraw money straight into your regular bank account as it must be withdrawn in bitcoin. This means that if you’re looking to make a fast win and get the money into your bank account as quickly as possible, you wouldn’t be able to do so directly from Bitcasino. However, there are also many advantages to playing on a bitcoin-operated casino. Since winnings can only be withdrawn in bitcoin value, they must be sold as bitcoin before you can obtain the value as real currency and not cryptocurrency. The transferring of bitcoin is m...

Indie World Showcase - 8.19.2019 (Video)

Image
The Indie World Showcase for 8.19.2019 was just ok. I suppose my expectations were too high. I think my expectations are always too high about all of these Directs, Indie or otherwise. So I was expecting some pretty big surprises and we didn’t get that. Ori and the Blind Forest wasn’t a big surprise because just about everybody was expecting this game to be revealed sooner or later for the Switch. There was even a recent rumor that said the game would be revealed in this Indie World Showcase. So while its great that it was true, I would’ve been nice to have a surprise… The rest of the games shown in the Showcase varied from “that looks good” to “that looks terrible”. I was impressed by The Touryst and Cat Quest 2 the most. I also think that Spirtfarer continues to look awesome. What did you think of the Indie World Showcase today? What was your favorite game shown?   This article first appeared on: source

The Old Man's Guide to VTubers

Image
At the grizzled old age of 32 sometimes I need help understanding the basics of the modern world. What is a dab? Why is TikTok a thing when it’s so obviously not a thing? And today, what the hell are vtubers? For a while now, there’s been a lot on the internet that I haven’t understood. Frankly, it’s only been getting worse. As someone who grew up in 90s chatrooms, I used to get the wild west nature of the internet. Extreme pornography and violence were just the risks you took for daring to go onto a kid’s chatroom. And who doesn’t fondly remember worryingly listening out for the sound of sirens after your Limewire download of every song from the Simpsons soundtrack turned out specifically not to be every song from the Simpsons soundtrack. I’m still worried they’re going to track me down 20+ years later. These days, youngsters don’t have time to wait 4 minutes for every megabyte of nudity. No, it’s all about memes – quick, short, over almost before they’ve begun. And why play a...

More Thoughts From Me Special Edition: Hogwarts Legacy Looks Stunning

Image
Today’s State of Play showed off Hogwarts Legacy and it looked amazing. First of all, let me note that I am a Harry Potter fan. I love the movies. I love the books. And so it shouldn’t be surprising that I like the look of Hogwarts Legacy. But I have to say that the game absolutely stunned me. Now, before getting into why it looks stunning, I will note that the game might not be up to the level of graphics in games like Elden Ring or Horizon Forbidden West. The environments and monsters looked incredible, but some of the faces in the game looked like they still need a little work. So did the framerate in places. The game isn’t coming out till Holiday 2022, so hopefully they will improve the faces and framerate a bit. That said, Hogwarts itself and the world around it is jaw dropping. The developers have actually created the whole of Hogwarts plus the surrounding town, houses, forests, dungeons, and more. It looks like there will be a massive world to explore. You can even us...
